What are the free tests you talk about?
We are able to fit a test cloth to our system which will gather a sample of the mattress contents. Once gathered we can then test the strength of the allergens in the dust using out test kit.
Can you confirm the time it would take to clean one double mattress?
The time taken to clean a mattress comes down to how conscientious the individual operator is, for example, we take 30 to 35 minutes to clean a single mattress, but some operators advertise only 10 minutes. We prefer to make sure it is cleaned properly. A double mattress can take over 50 minutes clean correctly.
Does the mattress require removing from the frame?
Apart from when we turn it over to treat the other side it can remain in the frame.
How often should the bed be treated?
This very much depends upon the severity of the allergy, if bad then every six months is recommended. Less severe sufferers can wait longer but it is advisable not to leave it longer than twelve months.
Can any type of mattress be cleaned?
Pretty much any type even so called non allergenic mattresses have been tested and found to contain allergens.
How old must a mattress be before it requires treating?
We have cleansed mattresses as new as 6 months and as old as 100 years. The first is the norm the latter was exceptional but both are now as healthy as new.
Do you cure my allergies or asthma?
No, but most allergy sufferers and asthmatics obtain considerable relief. Approximately 85% of Asthmatics are allergic to the allergens in the excrement of the house Dust Mite and therefore obtain considerable relief. And whilst treatment will not cure Asthma, it may well prevent it. Recent research indicates that the allergens in mite excrement may also cross the placental barrier in pregnant women and therefore may cause Asthma in the unborn child.
Are those allergy preventing mattress covers worthwhile?
If you are going to use them, it is important that these covers only be installed on mattresses that are new or have been cleaned and sanitised using the Mattress Wizard system, otherwise the enclosed mattress may act like an incubator allowing mould, fungus and bacteria growth to increase.
Most manufacturers recommend that the covers be removed and washed weekly. This is a very cumbersome task and when the cover is removed for washing, the contaminants are released into the air. Also, people suffer from a disturbed sleep as the covers are noisy and do not breath sufficiently making people sweat during the night. We recommend investing the price of the covers into getting the mattress professionally cleaned by the Mattress Wizard. That way you can rest assured knowing that your mattress is clean and sanitised.
Can I vacuum my own mattress and save money?
You should use only vacuums with a HEPA filter system to keep the collected dust where it belongs, inside the vacuum. If you do not, and you are asthmatic, you could experience a severe attack. Regular vacuums only use suction to pull out dirt and will actually bring the dirt close to the surface where it will clog up the fabric and remain trapped inside the mattress. This could make your symptoms far worse. Your vacuum will not be as effective as our system is, because we use a combination of treatments including vacuum power, high frequency vibration and UVC radiation followed by treatment with our Mattress Hygiene Spray.
What do I need to do before you visit to treat my mattress?
Please remove all bed linen and mattress covers. Also move any fragile items away from the bed area as a precaution.
